He was predeceased by : his parents, Elaine Hardman of Austin, Texas and James Fowler, Sr. (Gary Williams, Sr.) of Austin, Texas; his grandparents, Freddie Mae Selman, Celester Fowler, Willie F. Davidson, Lewis Fowler, Sr. and James; his siblings, Denzel Hardman of Austin, Christopher Fowler of Austin, Texas and Stephanie Fowler of Dallas, Texas; his pets, Egypt Marie, LoLa Mae and Paris; and his close friend Sheila Green of Austin, Texas. When called upon to defend the Writs of Assistance that were used by British officials, Otis resigned rather than do so.
